Pioneer Healthcare Limited is a well established independent sector healthcare organisation providing high quality care to NHS patients in the independent sectors. An opportunity has arisen to undertake the role of Administrator/Medical Secretary on a temporary basis to cover maternity leave.  Initially for 6 months with the opportunity to extend in line with maternity absence. 

We are seeking a motivated, proactive person to ensure that the booking and administrative processes for all patients is delivered to the highest standards, as detailed within the organisational Standard Operating Procedures to ensure that patients receive their care within a maximum 18 week timeframe.

The post-holder will contribute to providing an efficient and streamlined patient pathway and the role will include accurate and timely input and reporting of patient data, tracking and follow up of diagnostics/pathology results, audio typing of clinical correspondence and general clerical duties, thus supporting the clinical staff in providing excellent patient care. The post-holder will ensure achievement of all performance targets and that patients receive their care within their Referral to Treatment time.

The post holder will be responsible for providing regular reports  on performance and the escalation of issues and delays in patient care to the Director of Operations.

Applications are welcome from self-motivated individuals who have the ability to work without supervision and manage their own workload. You must possess excellent oral and written communication skills and preferably be a quick and accurate audio typist. You will have experience of working to tight deadlines and be prepared to work flexibly within the demands of a very busy organisation

A minimum RSA II typewriting or equivalent speed and accuracy and a knowledge of medical terminology is desirable.  NHS experience is preferred but not essential and the ideal candidate must be a self starter and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
