STEEL PORT OPERATIVE - Night shift

GROVEPORT, GUNNESS, SCUNTHORPE

Competitive +  (SHIFT ALLOWANCE) + OT (1.5X & 2X)

26 days hols + bank hols

 

Our reputable client is seeking to strengthen their team of steel operatives. Ideally from a steel stockholding background you will need to be punctual, experienced and not afraid of hard work, outside and in all weathers. Experience working within a steel operation, holding the relevant licences for operating 16 and 18 tonne forklift trucks and overhead cranes, is essential. This is a complex, 24 hour, loading operation and your shifts will commence at 6pm on Monday through to 5.30 am on Saturday. Weighbridge experience would also be desirable, however full training will be given to help with cover on the night shift.

 

Summary of Responsibilities:

 

  • Loading steel products onto vehicles destined for customers
  • Use of heavy machinery - overhead cranes, 16 and 18 tonne FLT
  • Overall responsibility for ensuring safe loading of cargo
  • General steel work
  • Maintain good housekeeping at all work areas
  • Adhere to safe working in the workplace and at all times comply with safe systems of work, risk assessment in line with company Health & Safety Policy and Procedures

 

Personal Specification:

 

  • Hardworking with previous steel experience
  • Proven record of physical and manual work
  • Valid plant operator licences and driving licence
  • Team player
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions
