Finance Team Leader

Salary NJC 30 -34 (£26,822 - £30,153 pa) with scope to progress up to NJC 38 (£33,437 pa). Dependent on experience, qualifications and negotiable for the right candidate

King Edward VI Grammar School (converted to Academy/MAT status in September 2015) is seeking to appoint a highly organised and professional individual responsible for delivering an outstanding and effective financial support service to help lead the School Finance team. 

The post holder will ensure the efficient administration of the daily functions and routines of the School Finance Office and be responsible for carrying out many of the tasks and routines. The role will involve the provision of a full accounting service to the School and its staff including;  processing transactions, preparation of monthly management accounting information, cash-flow monitoring, financial budget plan compilation and monitoring,  preparation of statutory financial returns to the EFA, Directors, Accountants etc. and ensuring audit compliance to the Academies Financial handbook. Production of ad-hoc analysed reports financial information to assist the Finance and Business Development Director, Headmaster and Board Directors in their decision making.

This is an exciting and varied role, and will suit those who like to think on their feet and use their initiative. We are looking for a team leader who is proactive, enthusiastic with excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to review/improve workflows and implement new systems/processes.

We ideally seek a person with proven financial management experience and a relevant financial qualification e.g. AAT but we are also happy to consider and support those looking to make their first move into a wider leadership role.

The post holder will lead a small Finance Team and be supported by, and report to the Finance and Business Development Director.
