Commissioning Engineer 8-month contract on Biomass Energy from Waste schemes ATA Recruitment currently have multiple opportunities for Commissioning Engineers. My client currently has three sites, one in South Wales, one in Lincolnshire and the other in Humberside all which are due to reach the commissioning phase shortly. The commissioning engineers will ensure the efficient delivery of the commissioning phase of the project in respect of quality and process compliance, with due consideration of the SHE and costs implications of the business. The role includes the preparation of detailed procedures to cover the commissioning activities and ensuring the availability of records demonstrating the configuration and testing completed. Waste to Energy plants have seen tremendous change since it was first introduced over 120 years ago, and my client is at the cutting edge of technology across these three projects. Essentially my client is taking wood as fuel, putting it through a gasification process which produces Gas to fire a boiler and subsequently produce electricity for export. This is your opportunity to contribute to these exciting projects. Duties/responsibilities of the role will include: - Assist the Senior Commissioning Engineer and the MEICA Site Manager - Prepare a Commissioning plan in line with Business Management Systems - Client liaison in relation to the Commissioning element of the project - Coordinate commissioning ensuring project specific requirements and programme are met - Accurate competition of Commissioning documentation - The Commissioning Engineer will ensure that the training plan content is delivered in accordance with the programme requirements for the project - marking up the draft O&M Manuals (including the drawings for as-built records) during the commissioning phase of the project, - The Commissioning Engineer will prepare the Commissioning Completion Report for each project, using the standard format, at appropriate programme stages and at the completion of the performance trial / acceptance testing - The Commissioning Engineer shall assist the MEICA Site Manager in the clearance of post-completion defects as required. The ideal candidate - - Have a minimum of 5-years experience in the Energy from Waste / Power industry. - Have a good working knowledge of the Microsoft Office applications - Be able to demonstrate an understanding of health, safety and environmental approaches - Understanding of Energy from Waste / Power industry processes with preference given to candidates having knowledge of high pressure steam system and power generation systems. - Be able to demonstrate an understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment used in the Energy from Waste / Power industry. - Understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment used in the Energy from Waste / Power industry. - Preferably have the ability to undertake the role of an authorised person and be able to demonstrate an understanding of permit to work systems Training Requirements - CSCS / ECS or equivalent competence card in an appropriate discipline - Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (minimum) / Site Management Safety Training Scheme (preferred) or equivalent safety qualification - CDM 2015 General Awareness - Site Environmental Awareness Training Scheme or equivalent environmental qualification - Confined Spaces (preferred) - Certified PROFIBUS Installer (minimum) / Certified PROFIBUS Engineer (preferred) - First Aid at Work (preferred) - BS7671 Requirements for Electrical Installations - 17th Edition (preferred) - COMPEX (preferred) - PROFIBUS Commissioning and Maintenance (preferred) Start Date: - May 2017 Rate: - £350 - £375 per day Location: - either Barry, Boston or Hull Duration: - Until March 2018 For further information or to apply please contact Rachel Skelton on or forward your most up to date CV to
