A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Semi-Senior Accountant to join an independent accountancy firm based in Louth.

The Company

Established in 2010 after the successful buyout of a local accountancy firm, our client is an Independent Accountancy practice owned by 2 partners. The company provides an all-round accountancy service with a personalised twist.

The Position

  • To provide a high-quality accountancy service for existing and new clients.

Role responsibilities will include:

  • Bookkeeping work for small businesses
  • Preparation of VAT returns
  • Providing cover for the payroll department using Sage payroll
  • Preparing accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies as well as a few clubs and societies
  • Reviewing third-party prepared draft accounts and ensuring they are ready for partner review prior to client meeting
  • Regular reviews of the IRIS accounts workflow report to ensure a controlled workflow
  • Making sure that all jobs are worked on and completed in an agreed timeframe
  • There will be the opportunity to become involved in some personal tax and corporation tax work and to undertake any other duties required in order to achieve relevant experience for the ACCA qualification if applicable

The person

  • The successful applicant will have current / recent experience working for an accountancy practice. You will be driven and a self-starter with the ability to work alone and on your own initiative. This will suit someone who has great future career aspirations, who wants to make an imprint on what is an already successful practice.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience required

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (part qualified will be considered)
  • IRIS experience or a similar practice accounting software
  • Good IT skills with working knowledge of Cloud system and Sage
  • Wages/payroll/automatic enrolment knowledge/experience
  • Networking experience would be desirable
  • Excellent communication skills

You will be hardworking, organised, be able to manage your work load and very personable to fit into a small office environment.
