Business Assurance Analyst (Job ID: 37664)

The Business Assurance Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the integrity of the UK control environment.  To provide support to the UK businesses in relation to audits and controls compliance.  To leverage internal controls knowledge across UK affiliates.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Ensuring ongoing Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance by reviewing controls and hosting Internal and External Audit teams.
  • Coordinating the UK Marketing Field Audit schedule and conducting remote Field Audits at Road, Marine, and Aviation Terminals and at Marine barges, for the purpose of verifying the accuracy of accounting records and ensuring compliance with Phillips 66 standards/guidelines and to verify site stock controls.
  • Providing support to the UK businesses in relation to vendor audits.
  • Conducting control reviews of business processes for the purpose of identifying flaws, inefficiencies and control weakness which are negatively impacting the bottom line.
  • Conducting ad-hoc stock investigations.
  • Providing controls' advice and expertise to the Business and Finance department.
  • Co-ordinating, maintaining and controlling SAP security records for UK user groups including Business Warehouse.
  • Performing the daily Duplicate Payment Prevention SOX process.
  • Coordinating specific Management of Change applied to changes in business processes.
  • Performing monthly support to the US Business Consolidation System consolidation process.

Basic/Required:

  • Legally authorised to work in the UK.
  • Strong financial and analytical background, part-qualified accountant or relevant accounting experience.
  • Strong controls awareness with a desire to learn and an enquiring mindset
  • Team player - ability to work effectively in teams and capable of working independently and remotely.
  • Ability to work flexibly, prioritise and handle multiple activities and meets commitments under pressure.
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
  • Good IT skills, particularly Excel, SAP & Business Warehouse.
